dang i didnt think it would be this early..

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Most here would be better suited to walk on as coaches...right?

Re: Want to walk on to the football team?

How many kids tried out last year? Who made the team last year? What walk-ons helped ISU get to the 7 wins? Who are some of the past great Walk-on's?

We all know Jesse Smith went from Walk-On to MVP, but who else also contributed as a Starter, Scout Team or 2nd Team player?

You got any elgibility left Chris? I think you would be the perfect slot WR in this offense. Shifty with a great burst of speed!

Well we know there are plenty of quarterbacks who post on this forum, granted they're armchair but that still counts right?

Would you say Jake Williams was a part of getting to 7 wins?

Re: Want to walk on to the football team?

How many walk-ons actually get on the team this way? What I mean is, do most of our walk-ons come from try-outs, or are they by-and-large local kids that coaches have already approached about walking-on?

Re: Want to walk on to the football team?

First I'm going to hold a press conference and pick the ISU hat over USC, Florida, Texas, Alabama & William & Mary. If coach isn't convinced to give me a scholarship to come back to school after that, then I'm walking on!

HAHA. That's funny considering that very topic is part of my blog today. We think alike.

That's old-school press conference! The new, latest, greatest is to skype the winning coach on live ESPN!
