it would be nice to see both rump and laing add 15 pounds and have them both start at DT. That would give us DT's at 6''3 300 lbs and 6''4 285. it's be nice to finally have a pair of big 12 sized DT's

Not out of the question, another off-season under Yancy it could happen. I think by adding some size to DT it will definately help our D.... We still need the speed on the edges, our only really threat this year (Lyle) is graduating..... Getting Parker back will help but to me me need something more.....

    Re: Defensive Line 2010

We're losing some key guys on D, but we have experienced players returning. They may not have been starting, but all of the D Line and the LB's played significant minutes this year. It's encouraging to know that we're not just throwing freshman out to try and hold their own.

To me the biggest loses will be Jesse Smith and Nate Frere not only because of their team leadership and heart but also because of overall consistency, these 2 did there jobs and did them well every single game. I just hope with the slew of DL we have on the team (Rump, B. Johnson, Albertis and Black) one of them has really big shoes to fill. I think the Parker coming back gives a little leadership, I think Knott and Klein also need to step into leadership roles and quick....

Hah- Okay, I'm sorry- I'll try to contribute now:

I remember speculation on this board of Cqulin Hubert getting a look @ DE. Based on his profile he seems like an intense individual. I've got a good feeling about him. I think this team is a couple solid pass rushers away from being very competitive.

We need a ripped defensive front.
When you look at teams like Nebraska and Texas, they don't have fat D-Lineman. They are absolutely ripped. Crick is 6"6 and only 280.
What we lacked last year was speed.

    Re: Defensive Line 2010

Taking jabs at typos makes us feel whitty. Personally, I laughed and I didn't think he was trying to hurt your feelings.

Now, if he had gone on a ten minute rant about how everyone sucks at spelling and grammar, then he would have been a bit out of line.

Note: Everyone can feel free to mock CYCLNST8 and myself if we ever happen to mispell anything. I know that he and I can take it! He is afterall, the best center guide I ever had in my marching band rank! HA!
