    Snow on the roof

With the temps starting to warm up this week, is it better to get the snow off your roof or leave it on? I'm worried about all the possible ice dams as the gutter are already full of snow and ice. I've got about a 2' of snow drift on the south side of our roof. Thanks!!

I've heard to just try to keep the snow cleared off of the gutters if you can, let the sunlight get to ice in there.

This is what I have heard also. No word on what your supposed to do for places the sun never hits.

Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving.

    Re: Snow on the roof

Saw a report on the news regarding this. You definitely want to break the ice off the gutter along the bottom where the roof meets the gutter. Otherwise, the melting ice has nowhere to go except to back up under your shingles, and into your house.
