Nebraska Versus Ohio State in 2009 CBS Sports National Championship Game

I just came across this while browsing the net this afternoon. CBS Sports has put together a 64-team Football Tournament (simlar to college basketball's March Madness) for the season just completed and, based on fan voting, their championship game features Nebraska versus Ohio State.

Nebraska was the number-6 team in the "West" brackets, but has beaten 11th-seeded Arkansas, third-seeded BYU, and second-seeded Oregon. In the semi-final, Nebraska defeated Iowa, the third-seed in the Midwest.

Here's the most recent article on the "tournament:

how is Min in this and not us?

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

    Congratulations!

I have lived in Omaha for 5 years and just discovered that Nebraska has a women's basketball team. I guess it only makes sense since they appear to have dropped wrestling and baseball. Both programs used to get prominent media coverage but I haven't seen, read, or herd about them in a long while, so they most have been dropped - it is the only logical conclusion. Surely the work of Title IX, I only thought that St. Tom of the Prairie would have been able to do more with those programs. Maybe with the $ that is surely to follow to the school following this silly title you can reinstate both wrestling and baseball.
