We have OU and Texas and Texas Tech next year in conference. We don't get to compete for the title unless we upset 2 teams.

We lost against 2 South teams and almost won the North this year. (If only we took care of business against Kansas and Kansas State.)
Why couldn't it happen next year?

    Re: North Standings Predictions 2010

Nebraska (too much defense for the rest of the North)
    Missouri (Gabbert continues to improve)
Colorado (better talent than some might thing)
Iowa State (better team, but worse record due to schedule)
Kansas (Gill will surprise some in first year)
Kansas State (Snyder can't get it done twice)

Why couldn't it happen next year?

Could of, should of, would of... We didn't.....

Why??? South schedule last year... OSU- 9-3 Baylor- 4-8 Texas atm- 6-6
South schedule next year.... Texas- 13-0 OU- 7-5 TT- 8-4

So.... If we beat Kansas and K-State and Colorado. There is 3 wins. We lose 3 to the south... 3-3 means we would have to win against Nebraska and Missouri for a 5-3 conference record. If we split then 4-4 conference.

Nebraska at 6-2 in conference won it......

Look at all time records vs Texas and OU and TT... Does not look good. We need 2 upsets.

this. I feel anything can happen to the North next year. If I knew, too lazy to look it up, who else plays TX/OU/Tech... it would change the order or the crap shoot spots.

Look at all time records at ISU for anything related to football and it's not good.
The 80-90's did not treat ISU well. Anyway, all time records should be irrelevant to the upcoming season.

I firmly believe that with all the tough North games and Texas Tech at home, we could win the North.

wow Nebraska is lucky they get ou on the opposite of Texas

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."
