    Pete Carrol to Seahawks?

According to ESPN @ 1:55pm: They say that he is in talks w/ the Seahawks. They say mutual interest. Interesting.

Alright now we can get all USC's recruits. Tell them it's the same uniform, they will never notice the difference, except maybe for the hot chicks and weather.

I thought after last night he would be joining ESPN as a commentator. And I realize now that I left an L off his last name, sorry.

That would be interesting to see happen...I like his college game though. One person USC would not pursue if they had to replace PC...Charlie Weis!

I thought he was really good as an analyst. He was definitely better than Herbstreit and Mark May.

Could he want to leave because of violations coming soon to the football program....

Might be...might also want one more shot at a level where he has not been successful? I hope he stays at USC...he is fun to watch.

Big mistake by Carroll if true. He's already tried and failed in the NFL.

    Re: Pete Carrol to Seahawks?

He must really have a fire in his belly to coach and prove himself in the NFL because why in the world would he leave the situation he is in at USC. He makes a ton of money and is a god in Southern California. Maybe ESPN is making more of this than there really is...who knows.

This is an interesting thought. Could you imagine what he could do with the best recruits it the nation?

Granted losing PC and his staff may reduce the level of talent but USC would still draw a huge number of good recruits and the only competition would be UCLA where he now has to compete with TX, OK, ATM, Baylor and all of the other schools that recruit in TX.

    Interesting post.

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

I thought Pete was frickin awesome. I don't like the guy but he is so good at speaking about football and really is smooth. No wonder he gets recruitsI like Herby too. Mark May could jump of a cliff for all I care. I despise him. No wonder he gets recruits. I said this a few months ago. It is time for him to leave. Veyr few coaches can sustain success at one spot for a long time. Even Bowdens and Joe Pa had down times. Pete's time to go is now. His program is under investigation and competetion is increasing in the west with Stanford and Oregon.

As far as next coach. Hmmm, I don't know. Maybe they go to an old NFL coach. Maybe a Gruden? I don't see anyone out there right now that really fits there. Mike Leach, no. TT, no. Levitt, no. Leach is the best coach out there but with the amount of talent and prestige within that school I think they are better served running a different offense. I really don't think Leachs offense is directly related to pure physical talent. It is a coaches offense. What I mean is you can put guys without a ton of talent in and succeed. If you put more talent in that offense I don't know that it gets all that much better.
