    ? about Jim Walden

I was like 12 when he was fired. Who were some of his assistants when he was here. Just curious

That was such a miserable time for Cyclone football, I've banished most of my memories.

    Re: ? about Jim Walden

The only good thing about Walden was the awesome Bartles and James -spoof ads he and Orr did.
    * in looking for that ad on the interwebs I found this.

    Re: ? about Jim Walden

I think his Son-In_law was an assistent coach.

I remember trying to get into "Peoples" (its probably had 100 names changes since then) (it's the corner bar on Welch and Lincoln Way). This was 92, after UNI beat us 30 something to 7. The guy infront of us, asked us not to slam ISU Football because Waldon's Daughter was in front of us. We said we still loved the Football team and wished them luck. Later that year they beat Nebraska in one of the Greatest games, but it did extend Waldon years are ISU by another (2).

I was on 2 this teams. Jon Fabris was my position coach -- what an intense guy. He was 26 years old at the time and his hair was already white.

I'd be very interested in hearing what your perspective of Jim was as a coach and person.
