Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

As far as Nebraska, 4 losses is a bit much to go much higher if you ask me.

With Oklahoma being 1 point away from being 25th, half of our schedule next year is on that list. I'll bet Rhoads sees that as 6 opportunities to prove what he and the Cyclone Nation are all about.

Re: Final 2009 College Football AP Poll

I don't see why TCU is ahead of Iowa. OK, their record is better, but seriously! They got beat far worse than the score shows in their bowl game (and AP voters should now this since they all should have watched the game) and Iowa wins fairly easily in their bowl. I just don't see how you can put TCU ahead of Iowa (not that I'm all that excited about moving Iowa up any).

Other than those two however, I think the rest of the rankings seem fairly reasonable.

    The rationale:
    • Better record
    • Three wins over teams in the final top 25 poll (same as Iowa)
    • Only loss is by 7 to undefeated #4 team in final poll
    • Beat the ACC runner-up (Iowa beat the ACC champ)
    • Blow-out wins against #12 and #18 team in final poll
Right or wrong, that is why.
