    Snow storm in iowa/illinois

    so, move in day is jan 7th, i also heard there is a big snow storm coming in....


    are the roads going from illinois/iowa going to be undrivable?

    i dont know how good the highway will be plowed so i was thinking to come a day early and stay in a hotel

    Yea, come in a tomorrow. Thursday will be a mess with blowing snow. Especially on 30/80/35 since the ditches are already full of snow.

    ****....i'm going to be worried about my parents as they will be driving as well....think they will be ok going back? or should i tell them to stay in a hotel till friday

    I would wait and see what Thursday actually looks like. It's very possible that the roads won't be terrible, but just have a lot of snow blowing over them.

    Come down early, and check the road conditions via Iowa DOT/news before deciding.

    EDIT: That's assuming that they're heading out. If you head in on Thursday, you'll be heading into the heat of the storm, which is never fun.
