Don't know how everyone else feels, but this article seemed right on to me.

Be glad you have a job. I think a lot of countries still envy our economy and the fact most of our citizens have jobs.

I can't help but wonder if this is showing the change in generations. The WW 2 generation pretty much appreciated anything they got while the Boomers, X, and Y generations have which each wave come to expect more while doing less...

I agree with the auto parts store workers comment that teamwork is generally lacking in workplaces. That would be the biggest thing my team at work needs to improve.

That said, I'm more satisfied at work than I've been for quite a while.

I think a lot of people are unsatisfied because their employer is using this economic situation as an opportunity to **** people in the ***.

Employers definitely know that employees are lucky to have a job, and that's not the best thing.

Like mandatory pay cuts and increased job responsibility to cover lay-offs.
"Restructuring" of Vacation Days and benefits
Zero cost of living increases while bosses get pay increases.
All sorts of cool **** going on.

We use overtime to cover vacancies from our layoffs or other assorted turnover. One of our managers just sent out a nice memo for those "not pulling their weight" with overtime.

I volunteer for a lot of it, so it's self-inflicted for me. But it really takes something out of volunteering when it turns mandatory.
