    Fennelly comment

Did anyone catch the comment on the post game show where Gmac mentioned how hard they worked over the last 10 days prior to the Houston game, then he thanked coach Fennelly. I wonder what went on over Christmas break?

I heard that too. I assumed BF walked by and said, "nice win," or something to that affect during the Gmac interview. Fennelly would have been in the arena as the Women played later that night.

Are we implying that Bill visited the practices?

Awww, I didn't even think about that. I bet your right. The comment just seemed to flow in a way that made it sound like coach Fennelly had involvement with the 10 days of hard work.

Is this a rules violation? They do use the same practice facility now.

Would it be? I have no idea how those rules work but it would seem silly if a coach at the same school couldnt attend or help out if needed.

This was my thought as well.

    Fixed that for ya.

Probably not, but he might have had a nugget or two on mental toughness, which we seem to lack at times.

I'm sure this was it, it just seemed a little out place hearing it over the air.

I'd guess this was it. BF said on his postgame show something along the lines of again congratulations to Greg on the win and to Coach Rhoads on the Insight....

Coach BF is as much of a Cyclone sports fan as he is a Cyclone Coach gotta love the guy and it would be very in his character to walk by and congratulate coach mac during his interview.

    Re: Fennelly comment

Coach Fennelly met with Coach Mac after the men's tough loss streak. Coach Mac commented about this on twitter. Seems like they met for an hour or so discussing how to get the team to play harder/better. It's always good to run something by a coach or to get help. Seems like a good working combination for the Cyclones.

If nothing else, those two and Rhoads are three fantastic people. Mac swallowed his pride and looked for advice, or at least listened. Fennelly was gracious enough to give his ideas and I am sure Coach Rhoads would help out with anything Iowa State. Not all schools have coaches like that. I like the guys we have. We may not win a bunch of championships and gain a lot of tradition but at least our coaches represent the school in a respectable manor.

It's all snark from here on out
