and the BcS gets its wish

forida dominates cinci so neither of those teams is eligible for a share of the title. boise plays tcu so neither of them with get the "big" bowl win to make either of them a legit candidate for a share of the title.

man i wish boise would have been paired with iowa, that would have been a great game to watch. tcu vs boise will probably be a great game too, but won't have the national interest of david vs Goliath.

Iowa vs Boise St and Georgia Tech vs TCU or vice versa would have at least gotten people talking and maybe answered a few questions. I for one am very disappointed with the matchups.

I don't think switching opponents would answer any questions. BSU already beat Oregon convincingly this year, and I'd expect them to do the same against Iowa or Ga Tech. I'd expect TCU to beat both of those teams easily too. It's too bad one of them didn't get a shot against Florida at least.

boise over Iowa and Ga Tech easily? No way

TCU might beat them both, but boise is a fraud just like Cincy

The Pac Ten (including Oregon - only good win for boise all year) has been exposed

MWC is legit ... Big East benefits from their bowl matchups every year

SEC is king ... Big 12 is next but not close either

My guess is the Cincy vs. Florida game would have been a lot different if Kelly was still there.

how is boise a fraud. i don't like them, but all they do is win every year. they try to schedule good competition for nonconference and...oh yeah they win.

boise beat an uninspired OU team back then and it took how many miracle trick plays???

boise is 2-3 since that miracle against teams with a pulse ...

    9/3/09 ... vs. Oregon (10-3) WON 19-8
    12/23/08 ... vs. TCU (11-2) LOST 16-17
    9/20/08 ... at Oregon (10-3) WON 37-32
    12/23/07 ... vs. ECU (8-5) LOST 38-41
    11/23/07 ... at Hawaii (12-1) LOST 27-39

Yes, they've only played 5 quality opponents in the past 3 years!!! and they are 2-3 ... really impressive

boise is nowhere near the level of a top five team. They could not compete with Florida, Alabama, Texas, etc. They would have suffered the same fate as Cincy did if they would have played Florida last night. BTW Kelly not being there had nothing to do with how bad Florida beat Cincy either.

I'm not saying the smurfs aren't any good, they are. I'm saying they are not elite ... because they are not even close.

Re: and the BcS gets its wish

The joke that is boise football:

In the past 6 seasons they have played only 13 games against high quality opponents.

They are 6-7 in those games, 3-0 at home and a combined 3-7 on the road and in bowl games.

They just don't ever play anybody! and when they do, they lose more often than they win.

    On the road ...

    9/20/08 ... at Oregon (10-3) WON 37-32
    11/23/07 ... at Hawaii (12-1) LOST 27-39
    9/30/06 ... at Utah (8-5) WON 36-3
    9/10/05 ... at Oregon State (5-6) LOST 27-30
    9/3/05 ... at Georgia (10-3) LOST 13-48

    At home ..

    9/3/09 ... vs. Oregon (10-3) WON 19-8
    9/23/06 ... vs. Hawaii (11-3) WON 41-34
    9/7/06 ... vs. Oregon State (10-4) WON 42-14

    In bowl games ...

    12/23/08 ... TCU (11-2) LOST 16-17 - Poinsettia Bowl
    12/23/07 ... ECU (8-5) LOST 38-41 - Hawaii Bowl
    1/1/07 ... Oklahoma (11-3) WON 43-42 - Fiesta Bowl
    12/28/05 ... Boston College (9-3) LOST 21-27 - Humanitarian Bowl
    12/31/04 ... Louisville (11-1) LOST 40-44 - Liberty Bowl

This doesn't even take into consideration the attrition that they would suffer if they played a legitimate conference schedule where they were tested physically and emotionally every week for two months.

Playing only 13 tough games in 6 years is embarassing.

I'm not so sure the Big 12 is second best conference this year. I hate to admit it, but I think the Big 10 might be the second best conference this year.
