Jake Williams - Most Underrated Player

Jake Williams is such an underrated player for us, imo. He just comes up with big catches. He made the big catch against KState that should've tied it, the bomb from Tiller against Nebraska, and then the bomb from Arnaud against Minnesota. The guy just makes big catches in big moments, and he doesn't get enough love.

Re: Jake Williams - Most Underrated Player

He scored 5 TD this year, and they were all wild in some fashion.

    (1) Sliding/diving catch at Kent State.
    (2) Deflected sliding/diving catch against Kansas State.
    (3) Bomb from Tiller at Nebraska.
    (4) Halfback pass from A-Rob at Missouri.
    (5) Deep pass against Minnesota as the DB falls down.

Jake is a beast there is a reason why he was put on a scholly

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: Jake Williams - Most Underrated Player

I was thinking this morning who the MVPs of this team were and I was thinking Jake and A-Rob for offense and Jesse Smith and Sims for defense. What The Shadow posted is why he in my mind, is the MVP of this offense.

Re: Jake Williams - Most Underrated Player

I recollect sometime last fall, CPR commenting that Jake probably was the fastest player on the team. Anyone else recall that?

If so, with his speed, experience gained this season while demonstrating a knack for catching tough passes, he's a cinch starter next fall -- regardless of who signs on the line in February, isn't he?

I LOVE Jake Williams...one of my favorite Cyclones. Very underrated in my opinion and I hope he gets some love in some of the preseason write ups next year.

Re: Jake Williams - Most Underrated Player

He is our only playmaker WR. I cant wait until we can line up 3 of these guys like most solid passing teams do.

I cant wait to see him grow next year.

I have more faith in him than anyone on offense. The kid is just a hell of a football player!!!!!! I don't care what his 40 or vertical leap is..

Re: Jake Williams - Most Underrated Player

He's our best receiver going into next year and it's not even close. It's possible, and almost likely that Reynolds will be that guy by the end of next year, but right now it's the walk on from West Des Moines.
