    Game changing play

    We were in prime position last night to run away with that game and win by 3 or more TDs on our first drive of the 2nd half IMO.

    Minny got the 2nd half opening kickoff, and went 3 and out. We get the ball, and ARob rips off a 30+ yd run into Minny territory, and it looks like we are on our way to a 21-3 lead, but on the very next play AA bobbles the snap and fumbles while attempting to hand it off to ARob, Minny recovers, and then we're in for the fight of our lives the rest of the game.

    Absolutely HUGE play in the game. If we go up 21-3 right there, I think Minny folds up the tent and we win convincingly. It just goes to show just how important one single play can be in a football game.

    Of course, Gray's fumble was another critical play, but I don't think we even come down to needing that play if we would have gone up 21-3 earlier.

    There were several, that was one, the fake punt was another (and there were a couple of others).

    Think about it....the only way Minnesota got a TD on our defense was through trickery with the fake punt. Granted, we did the same to kNU, but we were depleted at key areas of the offense. That fake punt and their fumble on the way toward the go-ahead score were the two huge plays in that game.

    I agree though that our guys had big chances to make even bigger plays on offense, but fortunately those plays weren't needed.

    Agreed. Both teams could have run away with it. We won in the end. No one will remember how we won, but just that we DID win.

    In terms of forgotten plays would be the one before this fumble. It was a great "double fake." AA gives to AR. AR fakes like he is blocking. AA fakes like he has it. Then AR takes off around the left. It was a great play only to be forgotten because of the play that followed.

    Sportscenter last night showed in slow motion Jesse Smith poke out the fumble. They had a great quote something like, "The men in the middle, always do the most work, but rarely get the credit"
