What Does Next Year Look Like?

Well, good way to end the season and great first year for Paul Rhoades! I'm thinking, what does everyone think of next year?

    We lose, probably:

Kennard Banks, Allen Bell, Mike Brandtner, Derrick Catlett, Nate Frere, Marquis Hamilton, Houston Jones, Christopher Lyle, Fred Garrin, Rashawn Parker, Josh Raven, James Smith, Jesse Smith, Reggie Stephens

Obviously some big names on defense, and a few big names on offense. We have a four star DB coming in (which means nothing..stars..but whatever), mostly 3 stars, but a few fours.

I don't want a prediction of our record, but more of how well we might fare on offense/defense/special teams/etc next year as opposed to this year.

Maybe a faster defense. Hopefully a smoother offense.

Either way, my thoughts on next year: Bring it on!

Few of those defensive losses going to be tough to replace in just 1 year.

AA must continue to improve, he is the KEY to the Season. I AA can improve his passing game, I think ISU can really win a lot of games. AA is HORSE to bring down, but he missed some balls and in the Big 12, you just can't do that.

I just love how this team continues to improve, I think we have GREAT Coaches.

Agreed on the smoother offense. It'll help on both sides of the ball having a year in the system under the belt. We will be a better team, although the record may not show it.

Rashawn Parker got a medical redshirt. Unless he decides to hang it up he will be back.

Re: What Does Next Year Look Like?

Tougher schedule, sure, but we'll be a tougher team.

Bring it on. Can't wait to see next year's big win! Or even more than one........

Re: What Does Next Year Look Like?

The South schedule change isn't as daunting now as it looked earlier. Texas is going to be breaking in a brand new QB and go-to WR. Texas Tech is going to have a new coach, and who knows how many players will bail there. And OU is losing a lot of NFL talent from this year's roster.

I'm not saying we'll win even 1 of those 3 games, but we might be able to hang around in a couple of them.

I wouldn't say we're "losing" him exactly. More like improving via attrition.

Frankly, I think we just might take one or so. I'm not scared at all by that schedule.

And I agree with 22 that we're improving as Banks moves on. We had enough penalties tonight without his obligatory personal foul.

    WE WILL KICK ***!!!!!!!!!!

    Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
    'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town'

Re: What Does Next Year Look Like?

We start the year with Northern Illinois, Iowa, Utah, UNI, Texas Tech and K-State. A favorable early season schedule could help get some mojo going into road games at Okie and Texas, which could mean good things for this program.

42-53 Record in CF Mafia. The most games played and wins by any player in Cyclone Fanatic History. Yes, I'm a nerd.

Really won't be that hard. No offense to current players, because they look decent tonight but it won't be that hard.

NHL teams need to be added to the favorite teams section.
