    AMBIEN

Just heard the 911 tape of Urban Meyer's wife the night he went to the hospital. She stated he "took an Ambien".

I have had personal experience with this drug. My wife was having a hard time sleeping during our second pregnancy, so she was perscribed Ambien.

This **** is DANGEROUS!! In my opinion, the FDA should recall this 'medication'. If you are ever perscribed this ****, make sure to ask your doctor if there is an alternative solution. At least do some research.

At best, your mood changes dramatically...to the point your loved ones may not recognize you. At worst...you end up having 'chest pains and a tingling sensation in your side'.

If you can't tell, I, although not a DR, would STRONGLY discourage the use of this drug.

    Re: AMBIEN

My wife was prescribed this after her 3rd pregnancy when she had trouble sleeping. It was hilarious. She would stare at me, then look over at the curtains and talk about how there were little gnomes crawling around in the pattern of the curtains. She said the trips were better than any drug she had ever taken.

I took one once, but it just made me sleep. :)

My wife has been taking it since July and yes it does make her goofy from time to time. If I come to bed late, she and I will sometimes have long, in depth conversations that she has no recollection of in the morning. Sometimes the conversations are strange, and I can tell that it's the Ambien talking. But other times she seems to be 100% lucid and we have normal conversations. That being said, she's never experienced the nightime kookiness that some Ambien users report. No sleepwalking, sleep driving, fridge raids, etc.

Our doctor did say that taking Ambien with even one alcoholic drink will cause some of these side effects. I guess they make a pretty wicked combo.

I've taken this before and the best I can describe it is as a awaken dream. It's pretty messed up!

    Re: AMBIEN

Sleep medication of any type should be used with caution. Earlier this year I was taking one unisom a week when I needed to get to bed real early so I could get up around 2:45 and make the drive to Cedar Rapids. Even the most mundane crap can be incomprehensible. My wife came to bed about an hour after I fell asleep and for some reason I thought it was time to wake up. I was dressed and almost to the building elevator when I realized it was 10 at night. Weird dreams were common as well. And this was on an over the counter sleep med that is basically a little more powerful than benedryl. If you don't need them don't use them.

Ambien is what the military prescribes to most of their personnel (pilots included) to help them sleep when dealing with the strains of time zone changes and getting use to a new area of operations.

I actually have a prescription of it sitting in my room right now and am taking it and the only thing is does to me is give me some wacky dreams and put me to sleep!

Isn't this the stuff from a story a while back where a guy was going out taking it, and was going out at night and living the wild life, allegedly unaware of what he was doing?

Ambien is also the drug that was shown on the movie "Role Models" in the camping sex scene. I won't describe it but you can watch the movie to find out.

Is it bad if I've done this without taking any type of drug?

You should be a salesman for this stuff. I might slip my wife an Ambian. At worst she falls asleep and I can watch Skinamax. At best she starts telling me about little space alliens running around our house. I see no downside.
