Dilfer quote on Favre and Childress

"Let the guy who is the best in the world at what he does do what he does. Brad Childress can't say that. Brett Favre can. Give him the keys and say, 'Hey, there's a reason we sent the private jet, a reason why I picked you up, and you've won three MVPs."

Dilfer thinks Childress hasn't mastered the game | ProFootballTalk.com

I really like this quote. This is more than likely Favres last year. Lets just ride him through the playoffs. Hes going to give it all he can. Im not saying lets forget Adrian Peterson, i am just saying lets think pass before run. Lets have the passing game open up our running game and not have our running game open up our passing game. Get what i'm saying?

The team as a whole needs to start playing better or the playoffs will be short lived.

Agreed, the 2nd half on Monday night was refreshing, however, special teams and defense need to get straightened out. No way they should be giving up 36 points to the Bears.

Re: Dilfer quote on Favre and Childress

I agree Favre is not a sure thing past this season so might as well let him do his thing. That and Pat Williams on the bench did not help the defense on Monday. He makes a huge difference in the middle against the run. That and the safety play needs to step it up.

Like it or not, he's their only option to make the Super Bowl. Their defense, espically defensive backs are terrible. They are going to need to score a lot of points to win and who's better than the gun slinger Brett Favre.

Can't say I'm dissappointed with what's going on in Minny. Favre's going to leave them a shambles like the Jets, but unfortunately, he is going to take AP down too, and he was fun to watch.

Re: Dilfer quote on Favre and Childress

I'm not a Vikings fan but I've seen almost every game.
At this point...I want them to win it all. BUT!...there are some things they need to get
back to. Namely running the ball. They need to pound AP.
That opens up everything for Farve.
The biggest thing the Vikes need to do in order to keep advancing is stop the run.
They have proven they can do it but it will all come down if they can do it against the best teams.

    This quote proves...

    - You have not watched a single Viking game this year....or...
    - You just are a bitter Packer fan

You still have to be able to run the ball to win the big one

I have, and I am, but if you think the Vikings are going to be a better organization after Favre leaves, you aren't being realistic.

The first part is right, but I don't think I would agree with the second part of that. AP may be approaching the prime of his career, but he'll be in the league for at least a year or two after Favre finally decides (or is forced) to hang it up.

It will be interesting to see what they do at the QB position, as that is far from that teams only problem at the moment. Rosenfels is at best a short term solution, and by now it should be readily apparent that T-Jack can't get it done.

I just wanted to see Rosenfels get his shot this year and he didn't. And playing TJ instead of him in mop up time surprised me too. I am hoping that the Vikings fall flat or win it all so at least Sage can get a ring out of his sufferings.
