    Re: More on Leach

This may be old news to most, but I did not know it. Texas Tech owes Leach $800,000 if he is the coach of the team on Friday. I know he does not get along with his AD well, and I got the feeling that this incident was all the AD was looking for to try to pull the plug and save the school nearly a million bucks.

    Re: More on Leach

I'd bet the AD is going to be out of a job soon enough. And Leach will get paid anyway.

I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.

    Re: More on Leach

Amazing! (2) of the Best Coaches in the Big 12 are gone.

Leach was the 2008 Coach of the Year.

Does this improve ISU's chance vs Tech next year? Texas Tech is our Big 12 opener. That would be a great win in Ames.

Gotta say, I like that statement by Leach. A LOT!

Calls the admin out directly - and doesn't mince words. Not alot of the double speak you usually hear.

    Re: More on Leach

Leach is going to end up with a LOT more than $800,000 out of this. We're talking several millions here.

AND... Texas Tech will not find a big name, good head coach either after this. Who would want to go there?

    They are in deep trouble.

I will really miss him, he is a great coach and very entertaining. I bet the AD and administration didn't like him being bigger then TT, but the fact is he is. It is probably good for us as they won't find a coach anywhere near as good, but the conference won't be the same without him.

    Re: More on Leach

Not only will he likely get a big settlement, he will also likely be coaching at a premier school before too long.

He is one of the better coaches not only in the Big XII, but in all of college football.

    Re: More on Leach

Bowl games every year and a super high graduation rate. What more could a university want?

IMO the university made this decision based on being politically correct and to avoid litigation from the James'. Gotta hand it to Mike for defending his principles.

Tech will quickly slide back into mediocrity.

    Re: More on Leach

wow, if Adam James is all they have, Tech screwed up big time. Should be interesting to see if ESPN covers the true story...Harrell calling James out has to have some credibility...I would venture to say Craig James ends up the odd man out in this deal - ESPN won't be able to afford the back lash of having a guy like that on the air.

His system wouldn't work at the NFL level. While running the spread may work on occasion, there's a reason why it hasn't already made its way.

Its almost the same offense the Patriots and Colts run.
