    Northwestern ranked

Northwestern is now ranked in the AP at #25. Many here said how horrible of a loss that was but its looking not nearly as bad. We could/should have won that game.

First time Northwestern has been ranked in 40 years I heard. AND they are without their 2 best players.

And yet we still had no business not beating them by less than 20...

That's what makes it a horrible loss. We should have won that game. You are correct. I don't care if they're ranked #1 or 200, we had no business losing that game that particular night.

Hooray! Another way for Cyclones to look for positives while losing!

Maybe you haven't been paying attention lately, but we haven't been losing.

Then why rehash a loss looking for positives?

This is correct. Many of us may have thought differently if they had just come out and dominated our guys throughout the game and our guys just didn't shoot well or something. But that wasn't the case. We were directing the game much of the night and then just blew it to an inferior team at the end of the game. Much like the UNI game.

I'm not looking for positives....just pointing out facts.

And either way, isn't that what message boards are for?

Because of the damn-near nook-u-lar meltdown that occurred after the loss. You would have thought it was December 2012 by the reaction. Someone just pointed out that the loss wasn't nearly as bad as it was being made out to be. And no, I'm not making excuses for GMac - I'm still of the opinion that if he doesn't make the tourney this year he's in serious trouble if not gone, and he'll have no one but himself to blame.

I thought so. That's why I commented to the thread. I guess I should only comment if I see sunshine and rainbows, or want to fire the coach. No middle ground to be seen here.

Agreeed. Just need to get one of those wins and still point out how good the opponent was.
