Not really a change of mind, he is still leaving. He is just reconsidering the permanent part.

As he should. He's way too young to be getting out for good.

Take care of your health and then get back in the game...

One source says he will just take the offseason off and return for the start of the 2010 season.

42-53 Record in CF Mafia. The most games played and wins by any player in Cyclone Fanatic History. Yes, I'm a nerd.

This is where Dan McCarney will probably run the show through the spring and Urban can return for the season.

Re: Urban Meyer changes his mind!

It will be Steve Addazio the offensive coordinator as head coach

"We embrace that challenge and what it presents to us. Im going to approach all 12 games this way: Were going to win them all. If we prepare and then go out and execute, were going to win all 12. Now how many are we going to end up with at the end of the year? I dont know, and youre right, I wont put a number on it."- Paul Rhoads on having the toughest schedule in the Big 12

How much stress is there really through the offseason? Yeah, I guess there's recruiting and speaking on the booster circuit and worrying about players getting into trouble, but you'd have to think that the real stress is August through January.

Re: Urban Meyer changes his mind!

So... is he still going to be paid during this "offseason"?

If so, I look for more head coaches to do this. Who wouldn't want to have from January-July off every year while all the assistants do all the offseason work for you and you still get paid?

Sounds kinda like Brett Favre to me? Just show up after training camp is over and go to work.

Re: Urban Meyer changes his mind!

Weird situation. I wonder if his "change of mind" this morning after practice will result in divorce papers down the line.

I just got the feeling that it was mostly family motivated, especially with some of the reports that were coming out.

Maybe this is to ensure that all the recruits show up on campus before he bails for good.

It sounds like he has caught the Favre disease. It is like being a woman in a mans body. Just cannot make a decision and stay with it or is not in the championship game and was feeling left out.

Re: Urban Meyer changes his mind!

it was wierd timing to announce it, one week before the bowl game. then the next at practice he is talked out of it??? He seems like he is on a emotional rollercoaster and would not be shocked if he changes his mind again in a month or so.

if the guy has really been to the hosptial a number of times already at 45, that doesn't bode well for his future. plus the Kiffins and Saban's of the world are going to use that to poach his recruits because of the uncentertainity of the coaching staff.

he would be doing better if he just steps down so they can get a Stoops or Gruden now, instead of waiting and being stuck with the offensive coordinator.
