    Christmas Eve Beer Thread!!!

What else better to talk about? If you are like me I take Christmas Eve as a time to relax before the craziness happens. I went out and got me a bunch of good stuff. My list goes:

-A 4-Pack of Festina-Peche by Dogfish Head (I have no idea how this was still at Cyclone Liquors) I am so pumped to try this!
-A variety pack of Flying Dog
    -A bottle of Loterbol Bruin
    -A bottle of Troubadour Stout

It's going to be a good day! What's everybody else drinking today?

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

I'm sticking with Blue Moon! I bought a six pack last night and today I quickly realized I will be needing more, especially if we get snowed in, so I made a trip in to town (ice covered roads) just to get more!

I'm drinking warm, homemade apple cider mixed with corn whiskey. Nothing says Happy Christmas like a hangover!

I have some Leffe Blond, and some homebrew Belgian Blonde. The homebrew is probably still green, its only been in the bottle for 1.5 weeks, recipe calls for 5 weeks in bottle.

    Re: Christmas Eve Beer Thread!!!

I picked up a 6er of New Glarus sampler last night. Probably go through that. My homebrew Texas Bock should be ready, but it's 1200 miles away at the house.

Not to hijack your thread but this got me thinking. I am a big fan of Sam Adams and Fat Tire. Anybody got any suggestions of other beers I may enjoy? I'm always nervous to pick up a 6-er just to find out its awful beer. Thanks!

    Re: Christmas Eve Beer Thread!!!

I gave myself the gift of a keg system for my homebrew for Christmas. I have a mighty tasty Scottish 70 on tap and a breakfast stout in bottles. Have supplies to brew a rauchbier, IPA and an Irish red. Probably try to brew one of these this weekend. As all of you brewers out there know, you can't brew one without drinking several!!

Don't know where you live or if you can get this but my favorite cold weather beer is a 90 Shilling from O'Dells Brewery.

Before I give you some suggestions... Where do you live? A lot of good beers available in one part of the country are harder to find than in others.

    Re: Christmas Eve Beer Thread!!!

If any of you like Sam Adams then I would recommend Leinenkugels too. Amber Bock is good as well as the classic Blue Moon

Just don't go out and buy any 6 pack, b/c not all of them taste well

Homebrew Dopplebock and homebrew Heffe-Weissen for me. I drank all my Irish Red while brewing 3 more batches last night. Yum.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I think I've had some variety of Goose Island and enjoyed it although I can't remember which one.

Anybody had Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale? Pretty tasty stuff.
