Best cord to hook the computer to TV

I'm looking to hook up my computer to my TV. Unfortunately, my computer does not have HDMI. I could do VGA to VGA but I'm not sure if the quality would be good. Do I really have any other options?

This is so I can watch ESPN 360 on my TV.

The best option is: whatever you can get that will connect on both ends. If you've got multiple options (besides VGA) let us know. One may be better than the other.

Is it a desktop or a laptop? If it's a desktop you can buy a video card that has an HDMI port for around 50.00 or less.

I use S-Video for mine. I for some reason could not get vga cable to work.

If you have a HDMI port on the TV and computer, that is your best option.

It is a laptop. So I'm guessing that I do not have a lot of options.

speaking of laptop connections. Can I use my HDMI to utilize my media center (record shows, etc)? Or is that feature useless without a tuner on the computer.

You need a tuner on the computer. HDMI is a one-way link. It's essentially the same thing as using your TV as a monitor.

I use the s-video cord, and then a seperate "rca cable to headphone jack" cord for sound. It works fairly well and make sure you maximize the screen before hooking it up, otherwise it is impossible to click on the button on espn 360.

Thats what I thought, thanks. What the heck good is this media center crap then?

The hdmi has been nice for pulling movies and tv off the web!

I use mine all the time (using an old Xbox).

If you have to ask, you probably don't need it.
