    Midland Wrestling - Seedings

Seedings are out for Midlands (Dec 29-30). Will be a very interesting Tournament for ISU.

Gallick is not be wrestling at 141? Not sure of his injury.

Also, Nebraska's 157 lbs (Burroughs - Defending National Champ), tore up his knee and is done for the year. Article says that he will request a Medical Redshirt.

Why is Zabriskie getting so little respect this year? He went into natz last year with the #2 seed. He underperformed a little, but still . . . his ranking is pretty low overall (fifth?). Just the third seeded collegiate wrestler at Midlands, jeez.

The defending national champion is seeded two places below him. (Ellis-Mizzou)

Rumor is Gallick wont be back until February. ISU has no shot in March without a healthy and well conditioned Gallick

    Re: Midland Wrestling - Seedings

Midlands pre-seeds usually change. These aren't locked in, by any means. Midlands also weights past performance as a factor in their seeding, which is why some guys seem "out of place".

Also, there are usually plenty of tickets available for all four sessions. You can walk up that day and purchase with no problem.

You are correct on the seedings. Some will change.

Some tough weight classes. It appears Reader will have to go through Morningstar to reach the finals. He will probably get Howe in the finals if he gets there against the national runner up. All weights appear to be fairly tough. 157 is definetly the weight class to be in this year. Iowa has all three of their guys going at 141. Will be interesting to see how that turns out.

    Re: Midland Wrestling - Seedings

You use 10 best wrestlers right?

Iowa could use 3 guys at 141?

If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find
them - maybe you can hire: The A-Team.

You get 10 wrestlers to earn points. You can bring more than that, but additional guys have to wrestle unattached. From what I saw, Iowa had 2 guys wrestling at 141 and 1 guy unattached.

Last year if I remember right Iowa didnt let their guys know who was scoring points and who wasnt until it was over. Good strategy and it paid off. If you are listed as unattatched then Im almost 100% positive you cant be scoring points for them. So chances are two guys at 141 will be scoring points and they wont be at 157.

If your talking about Brands not letting his guys know which 10 are scoring then you are correct, but he has to tell the tournament officials who the 10 guys are before the tournament starts. I would say Iowa will have all 3 scoring at 141 and none at 157 and Hwt. If I was to guess here is who I think the 10 will be for Iowa

    125: McDonough
    133: Dennis
    141: LeClere
    141: Slaton
    141: Marion
    149: Metcalf
    157: Open
    165: Morningstar
    174: Borschel
    184: Keddy
    197: Beatty
    HWT: Open

Correct I only question the 3 being used at 141 because Slaton is listed as Unattatched. Makes me think they are using someone at 157 or Hwt. 184 is stacked. Should be an exciting tournament.

    Re: Midland Wrestling - Seedings

Fact is, anyone of the Top 12 wrestlers could win the Title this year. I like Z's chances this year, this is a Big Tournament for him.

Is ISU's #2 HWT (Thompson) wrestling in this tournament?
