    Gilstrap

What is the current word on him getting another year of eligibility? Last I had heard the staff was more confident that it may happen.

He is more likely shooting for the NBA than coming back for his senior year. Its always worth a shot if education is important to him, but I venture to guess his family comes first and if he has a shot at instant money, he will take it.

I had that thought, but does he really have that much NBA potential though?

He should get another year, but the NCAA is involved so who knows.

NCAA will screw us. We are not a "big named" $$$ machine.

Just wait to get "jobbed" on this one.

I think he'll get the extra year, but think he opts for the draft instead (assumes continued high level of play)

    Re: Gilstrap

Can someone explain the whole situation? Its all foggy to me. I understand that he has only technically played 2 years at a JC, but there was some injury stuff that kept him out for 2 years, etc.

Also, what about the scholarship situation if he does get a 2nd year?

Um maybe not yet, I suppose he could go European maybe? Depends on whether or not he wants to do that to his family. An education is priceless I suppose, could be in his best interest to at least get that for his resume in case sports become a non factor in his life.

    Re: Gilstrap

He needs another year to develop. I'm sure he would be told that if he spent the summer doing workouts.

    Re: Gilstrap

Gilstrap's NBA hopes would be helped considerably by coming back another year. He is probably not ready right now. Oh he might be able to get drafted but the goal is to play in the league, not just get drafted. He needs to continue to work on his ball handling and shooting to stick on an NBA roster. Plus he would get a ton of exposure and numbers next year as our go-to-guy (assuming Brackins leaves).

Agreed. Its going to be tight, hopefully the NCAA gets the info out before scouts invade the scene.

    Re: Gilstrap

I don't think he's ready to jump to the NBA just yet and could use the extra year. He can definitely be a pro at some level and may need to make money sooner than later though. We won't know about the extra year for quite some time and predicting is futile.

I know this is a little off topic, but has CB's draft stock slipped? I mean enough that he might as well come back next year?
