NFLPA To pay for any potential Ochocinco Fine

I think it's Stupid the NFL would fine him for this, but cool that the Players Association will pay for the fine.

43-54 Record in CF Mafia. The most games played and wins by any player in Cyclone Fanatic History. Yes, I'm a nerd.

I had a feeling he would do something like this, good for him and a fitting tribute to Henry.

Pretty dumb that the NFL would fine him for that.

I agree with the NFL fining him on some of the things he has been doing on the sidelines because you can't have everyone doing that sort of thing.

I like that they would cover this one for him. It would be a nice tribute.

Maybe it's just me, but I find tears for Henry hard to come by.
Come on, he was pounding on the truck's rear window glass, trying to break it. Maybe if he had succeeded, we would be talking about his fiance's death, and not his?

These two guys were friends. One passed away, and the other thinks about paying tribute to his fallen friend. That's where I thing the NFLPA is making a good gesture here.

I understand that. But if they were friends, he can make tons of gestures in other ways, and most importantly, being there for the family.
Doing something in a game is for one purpose: Ochocinco calling attention to himself once again. It's all about him.

Or it calls attention to his fallen teammate on the biggest stage he has. Maybe that's the only way he thought about it. There really isn't a reason to doubt that he's legitimately grieving.

You're right, that could be true. I just disagree with your use of these words. He was in a rage, trying to get at his fiancee by breaking out the back window. He was endangering her life.

Really? A little respect here, is the least you can do.... This is one of the most disrespectful series of posts I've ever seen.....People mourn in different ways than others...If you've even bothered to watch Chad Ochocinco's webcast/twitter and interviews since....it seems like he had lost much more than a friend, he sounded like he had lost a part of his family......
Tornado man, this is just plain disrespectful...

Update: The league has now said that the NFLPA CANNOT pay for any fines incurred by Chad Ochocinco, per ESPN.com.

Re: NFLPA To pay for any potential Ochocinco Fine

In the long run the enforcement of the fine means nothing. Just a few more grand out of Ochocinco's wallet, and for a good reason.

Good on Chad for honoring his friend, black eye for the league as a result (although a rule is a rule).
