Who exactly did you expect the Cubs to get for Bradley?

Not sure I would go that far. Silva's contract is absolutely HORRENDOUS. I'm very excited about this trade. And, before you start bashing me, I live in Chicago, and I know how Bradley is a "cancer". But Silva is a dead arm who has no baseball skill left in his fat body. Bradley will do much better on the media island that is Seattle where he wont have the Chicago media breathing down his neck every day.

Re: Cubs to Trade Bradley to Ms for Carlos Silva

Looks like an attempt on the part of both teams to rid themselves of overpaid free agent busts. Silva isn't quite as overpaid and he can only be responsible for a loss every 5 days so maybe the Cubs come out ahead.

Apparently Hendry thinks the guy may have something left.

If the option is Silva or Bradley, then you are a fool to not choose Bradley.

    Reasons

    1. Bradley's contract (2 years 20 million) is better than Silvas (2 years 24 million)
    2. Silva has been awful the past two years
    3. Our OF options are looking slim as it is. Ankiel is not the answer.

I'd take Ankiel over Bradley right now

So you would take on Silva's contact and then sign Ankiel on top of that? For how much more production? Not much.....

If you can get someone to partially eat Bradley's contract and then sign Ankiel to a one year deal, I'm for it. But I don't want to take on some fat *** pitcher that is horrible and is getting paid more than the guy we are trading away.
