uhhh...wow...i see the 'recuiting experts' here were dead on again

McDermott was supposedly barely a mid major if he was lucky, not even good enough to walk on unless daddy put him on the team. Im no expert, but he looked ok tonight to me. Anyway, he and Barnes sure would of looked good in Cyclone uniforms the next few yrs. Oh well, good luck to both of them it will be interesting to follow their progress.

Is Greg McDermott more of a recruiting expert than us? Because he didn't offer him a scholarship and I think there is a good reason, whether it be on or off court reasons.

Or he did not offer him because Greg knew Dougie was not going to ISU. He might have had some inside knowledge and in all actuality we don't know if he was offered or not.

Cope, lets try creating a thread title that isnt trying to insult someone. A simple "Doug McDermott played really well" or something would have worked nicely.

The person guarding Doug most of the night was 6 inches shorter so he had a pretty good advantage. He did make the most of it. Nice for Doug it happened on natinal TV. I am surprised the other coach didn't respond...I guess they were so focused on Barnes they counldn't cover both.

You can't go on stats, you have to go on projections and is the player can be molded into a big 12 type player. I'm going to trust the McD family that Doug going to UNI is best for all.

Or.....maybe they just didn't want to deal with father coaching son. Look how well it's worked out for Dan Hawkins.

Little McDermott didn't have the greatest of offers either.

I bet anyone could score points when the number one player is on their team.

I'm so amazed by your ability to evaluate a player in one night! My God, you should be on the coaching staff at one of the elite programs in the country if you're that good!

Still, he worked without the ball better than HB to get in those positions.
