    Pac 10 looking at expansion?

    http://espn.go.com/blog/pac10/post/_/id/6381/pac-10-will-consider-expansion

With all the talk about Big 10 expanding who makes sense if the Pac 10 expands?

Boise makes sense from a football standpoint, but I don't think they've got the academics the Pac-10 would require.

Honestly, the best two options are probably BYU and Utah. You could probably make a case for Hawai'i, Nevada, UNLV, or Colorado as well.

What's weird about that is that when the Pac-8 expanded in the 70's they had their pick of Utah, BYU, Arizona, and Arizona St.

I don't get why people think Colorado would switch to the PAC 10. Maybe its a better fit academically but geographically the Big12 is much closer.

not saying that they would, but if the pac 10 were looking to expand it would make sense for them to go after CU. Good academics, adds another tv. market. i do agree the geography is off, but outside of CU its slim pickin's out west if the pac 10 wants to expand.

I wonder where the Big 12 will go if Colorado leaves to go to pac 10 and Missouri to big 10.

Boise and Hawaii? Get those two and you're looking at a conference with 12 members and the possibility of a championship game whose winner could legitimately ask for a permanent spot in the bcs.

No ****. When we drove to Boise, Cheyenne WY (which is only a little more than an hour north of Boulder) wasn't even half way.

The Big 10 adds ISU, NU, and Mizzou.

The Pac 10 adds CU, Boise, and BYU.

The Big 12 adds TCU, Houston, Utah, Arkansas, and Rice.

    And now I've gone cross-eyed....

I don't know if boise and hawaii have the academics to be in the pac 10. Also hawaii is a terrible choice. what school would want to pay to go to road games out in hawaii? That would be extremely expensive even when your talkign about athletic departments that deal in with millions of dollars. I would say they are last on the list of possible teams, even if they make the list.

And Alabama, Florida, USC, Oklahoma, OSU, tOSU, Texas and a couple other teams are going to start their own conference and call it the BCS.

well, Texas would be loyal to conference mate Iowa State and make sure we got into that gig too, right?

agree, if there's one conference with options for replacing schools that leave, its the big 12.
