Re: VLOG: The NCAA Tournament Expansion Debate

If you expand the NCAA tournament, you should get rid of the NIT and others. I don't want the NCAA becoming like the bowl games, where mediocre teams have a post-season.

Put everyone in it. Then we do not have to weep when we do not make the tournament.

Re: VLOG: The NCAA Tournament Expansion Debate

I think its just about right now. Teams that have good seasons (~20+ wins, several quality wins) can make the tourney.

The major argument (other than $$$) is that the legit 8 bubble teams will get it. But, then there will just be 8 more bubble teams that want to get it. It never stops.

Agreed about getting rid of the NIT. That's the only scenario that I'd welcome the expansion. No NIT, no CBI, no other crappy post-season tournaments. All or nothing with the NCAA tournament.

I really see no use in expanding, though. A lot of years, the 8,9,10, and 11 seed at-large selections are pretty crappy teams as it is. If you're any worse than that, do you really deserve to play in the tourney? If you go 7-9 in the Big 12 you aren't very good and those are the type of teams who will get in with the expansion.

Very bad idea to expand. Expansion essentially means adding the NIT teams to the Big Dance. I don't want to see any teams with sub .500 conference records in the NCAAs now. By expanding to 96, you would see a bunch of them and that's ludicrous.

Let's all hope that none of the TV networks say yes to this stupid NCAA suggestion, if it gets suggested.
