Time for Arnaud to prove something...

Arnaud should be healthy, know the offense and have a healthy ARob and receivers. In my view, it's time for him to prove he can win big games. His performances have been spotty, and we've heard a dozen excuses why. If he can come out and play like many think he capable of, it will be a great shot in the arm for next year. We need four strong quarters against a below average Big 10 team.

Are a sprained AC joint (08) that he played through and a broken hand (09) excuses? Seems like they would account for quite a few issues.

If Arnaud can't lead us with some good numbers (I'm sure he will do fine), ISU needs to seriously consider allowing someone else to take reins for next year.
He hasn't proved himself yet, and this would be a wonderful time to do it.

Re: Time for Arnaud to prove something...

I don't know what to think about Arnaud at this point. He was shaky in the non-conference slate of games and seemed to be turning the corner before the hand injury. Then he came back from the hand injury and was shaky, but that's somewhat expected given the circumstances.

I tend to agree that the bowl game is a great opportunity for him to prove some of the naysayers wrong. If he struggles in the bowl, that's very concerning IMO.

I still won't be concerned. If he looks off in game 3 or 4 next year, then I'll be concerned.

    Like who? Philip Bates?

The truth of the matter is, unless Tiller improves tenfold or the coaching staff finds the next Seneca Wallace - a.k.a. the next great QB that is hiding out in the JUCO system that's flying under EVERYONE's radar - Arnaud will still by far be the best option at QB regardless of what goes down in the Insight Bowl. And when I say by far, I mean there's no one that's even close.

I think AA will do just fine. Extra practice time, healing without game stress, and the excitement of playing in a bowl. He will do just fine.

Re: Time for Arnaud to prove something...

I really hope he can show us something. He's gritty and a leader but he was sub par this year. Injuries played a large role but he should be healthy for the bowl game. This extra practice and another off season fine tuning the playbook should be great for him and the entire offense.

Re: Time for Arnaud to prove something...

He does have a ton to prove.... He only took us to the Insight Bowl. We have the 6th most wins in my lifetime.

It's not like he has broken his hand and had a AC seperation, played for 3 head coaches in 4 years, and has the worst WR group in the Big 12.

I have a sprained AC Joint right now and it is miserable. I can't imagine throwing a FB.

Might want to give Tiller some credit for the Nebraska win.

does no one have any patients...?? but owell doesn't really matter what anyone on the board really thinks because it's up to the coaches who plays...

but i am sure that Austen will play just fine

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."
