Three 4 Star receivers next year.

Thought I would never see the day when Iowa State lined up three 4 star receivers.

Sed Johnson- 4 star out of high school
Darius Reynolds - 4 star out of Juco
Young- 4 star out of juco.

It's just too bad that Sed hasn't really produced yet. I have high hopes for him next year, taking over where Hamilton is vacating. Could be an interesting offense next season!

Re: Three 4 Star receivers next year.

The way Jake Williams has played has almost made me forget about S Johnson.. Jake has stepped up amazingly.. But if all of thw wide outs can get on the same page.. could be a fun team to watch

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Yeah I know that they have done nothing on the field yet. It just gives me hope we can start bringing in some of these 4 star recruits. You need them to compete.

We haven't seen any of them perform as 4 star receivers yet though.

Lots of potential...but that's just a short way of saying "you haven't done anything yet". I couldn't care less how many stars they have.

Lets hope we can finally get some consistent production from this position. We need these guys to start stretching the field to open up the shorter/quick patterns and help the running game.

I cannot wait to see this offense next year. I really expect it to be something exciting. We have what seems to be a ton of depth at the WR spot to accompany ARob and AA. I really feel AA will be drastically better next year. When you look at our reciever you have to be optimistic. We go six deep of guys that either produced in high school and created a story for themselves or they did it in college. I expect that Sed will increase in production and become a bigger part of this offense. I absolutely cannot wait to see it. Of course, we need to get through this bowl game first, but I am really excited about the offense and the defense with a bunch of new guys who will show what they have.

There were a lot of rumors that Sed was basically playing hurt all year. I think he hurt his ankle in the NDSU game.

I am hoping that Sed has had a chance to heal up 100% and will have a breakout game in Tempe. That would be epic.

Re: Three 4 Star receivers next year.

Each of the other Big 12 schools has multiple 4 and/or 5 star wide receivers and/or tight ends so this isn't really saying much. Sedrick Johnson needs to put on some weight so he can compete for the ball against Big 12 corners.

Re: Three 4 Star receivers next year.

Arnaud has to play much better next year for this discussion about WR to matter. He just never really got going in the spread offense, then he got injured. I still believe he has NFL skills -- height, arm strength, mobility, leadership - but he missed a lot of throws this year and in many cases just made some really bad decisions. See the Iowa game. That said, I have a feeling that he will have a breakout game against a marginal Gopher team in the Insight and that gets the ball rolling for a very good senior year.

To be fair Money got hurt. He was easily our best WR before he got hurt and you could tell that the coaches wanted the ball in his hands more than any of our other WR's.

And we have yet to see Young but I know the people at Rivals think he is a big time player. They went out of their way to congratulate us on landing him.

Sed is the head scratcher. He looks slooooow and really weak

Did darius Reynolds end up getting his medical redshirt?

Re: Three 4 Star receivers next year.

Don't forget the quality 3 stars from last year. Donnie Jennert and Keith Blanton. Also Jason Carlson, from the 2008 class who is still yet to make an impact, and will be a senior next season. There should be some good competition for the starting spots. Our offense uses a ton of receivers so we should see some good contributions from many different receivers next year.

I'm expecting big things out of Chris Young next year. I believe he will be a starter along with Darks. WR should be a strength next year, I hope they can produce.
