    Accenture ends sponsorship with Tiger

Accenture has ended its sponsorship of Tiger Woods, saying he is "no longer the right representative."
"For the past six years, Accenture and Tiger Woods have had a very successful sponsorship arrangement and his achievements on the golf course have been a powerful metaphor for business success in Accenture's advertising," the company said in a news release.
Accenture said that it wishes only the best for Woods and his family.

If he doesn't play golf this year will he have any sponsors left?

Does anyone think Nike will actually pulll their sponsorship? I feel like they have too much wrapped up in Tiger to do that.

Probably not Nike, but I could see everyone else leaving.

Damn... I've been away all day and haven't heard that yet. There goes the Tiger Gatorade... Thanks for getting me up to speed.

Just realized that was on the 9th... I'm a few days behind.

    What the hell is Accenture?

I guess the ads aren't working anyway.

Everything I keep hearing on sports radio is that this was done before the accident/affairs. His line of sports drinks were not selling (which is too bad because that yellow-green one was really good).

I hear Axe is working out a deal with him as their new spokesman.

I bet Nike ends it also. The stories are getting sick.

I really doubt Nike ends it.

First, Michael Jordan went through similar scandals through his career, and Nike stood by his side.

Second, he may not be the focus of their advertisements for awhile, but the demographic they are marketing to (young-middle aged men), not trying to put it too crassly, are generally not negatively affected (possibly even envious) of what's gone down.

The major point here - Woods has never been used in the "family man" arena of advertising. It's always been based on performance, which for the most part will remain unaffected by the scandal.

When the dust settles and Tiger decides to come back to golf, he's once again going to be an extremely marketable golf advertiser. Nike would be dumb to end it because once he returns, whatever golf company he is tied to is going to make a lot of money off of him.

I don't think Nike can possibly give Tiger the boot without him committing murder. Tiger = shloads of money for Nike.

Wasn't part of the Accenture ads "Be a Tiger"? Haha.

    Too funny now.
