    Flip or similar "camcorders"

Just curious if anyone has used the flip ultrahd, sony webbie, etc, and how they do. I know they are inexpensive for a reason of course.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

I have a Flip Ultra HD. I like everything about it except that without stabilization, it's very shaky.

Here is a video i took last week. Notice that you can choose to watch it in HD.

    Re: Flip or similar "camcorders"

I have a similar camcorder as that, its the Aiptek A-HD camcorder. I just bought for something to mess around with and it works great. I took it to colorado and used it quite abit and never had a problem. The clarity is great, it records in 1280 x 720 with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
I bought it from Best Buy for around $100.
The only main downside is that it records in .MOV HD, so if you want to edit your clips into a movie, then you need to find a specific program to do so (unless you have a mac). The sound quality isn't the greatest either, but again, I'm not filming a movie. Just something fun to mess around with from time to time.
Here's that camera. I'd assume its similar to the Flip HD.

Thanks for the feedback, I was worried I'd get it and find it a disappointment but they look like they do a decent job. Thanks for that youtube link, that's pretty good in HD for sure.

    Re: Flip or similar "camcorders"

I was going to get one for my wife and did a ton of research. I was looking at either the Kodak Zx8? or the flip mino hd. The kodak one had better features and can record in 1080p, but the flip had the advantage of being sleeker and more mainstream.

In any case, I bailed when as we don't have kids, and we already have iphone 3gs's which take pretty good video.
