Great price on that tv, but it's refurbished. Better check into Woot's return policy on refurbs before buying.

    Warranty: 90 Day Vizio

I bought a refurbed Olevia a couple years ago and it didn't work. Olevia sent me a brand new, unrefurbished one for a replacement (newer model even). Not sure how Vizio would handle it.

    6500:1 Dynamic Contrast is horrible!! I have a 22" that has a 20,000:1. I can't imagine what 6500:1 would look like at 47"

It might look pretty good, actually. You'd have to see it to know. Here's an article on contrast ratio:

Equally important here is the fact that the eye would not detect a 10 times improvement in contrast performance - rather, the perceived difference in image performance between these two devices is marginal and detectable only if a room is in total darkness.

Another thing - Vizio is known as a fairly decent quality budget brand as far as I know. You're not going to get top-of-the-line specs from a Vizio, but your pocket book will love you for it.

You can't always tell much difference between a 720p and 1080p picture on smaller tv's. I've never looked at it side by side though.

In the lats 6 months I've bought a Smasung 37" LCD and a 48" Panasonic PLasma. Both 1080p, the LCD is 120hz, etc and I can tell you that the Plasma has the better picture.
