My Red Sox are getting worked

over in free agency this year. First they might not be able to re-sign Jason bay who is a great player for us. We traded Mike Lowell my not be that bad of a trade. They Yankee's are trying to sign everyone. The only thing that could make this off season is one man name Roy Holliday. Otherwise it has been a complete bust. How has your team done this off season?

As a braves fan i'm glad to see we bolstered up the bullpen

"We embrace that challenge and what it presents to us. Im going to approach all 12 games this way: Were going to win them all. If we prepare and then go out and execute, were going to win all 12. Now how many are we going to end up with at the end of the year? I dont know, and youre right, I wont put a number on it."- Paul Rhoads on having the toughest schedule in the Big 12

Re: My Red Sox are getting worked

It'd be better if the Red Sox couldn't sign Jason Bay because he kills the Yankees.
Would like to see Damon resigned.
Not sure I like the Granderson signing, but if he hits at the bottom and Swisher doesn't get to play, I'll more than ok with it.
Need to get some bullpen and rotation help. If Hughes and Joba become starters, they have no pen. If they aren't both starters, they're short a starter or two.
    Halladay would be excellent.
As much as I hate to say it, I won't be disappointed at all if Matsui isn't resigned. Just spends too much time hurt.

No offense man but if Hughes and Joba end up starters the Yankee's are in trouble. They both suck as starters. THey are good bull pen guys. If the Yankee's get Holliday it's pretty much over for everyone.

Re: My Red Sox are getting worked

The White Sox had their offseason earlier this summer. It makes me feel better when I think of it this way:

    Players added:

    Jake Peavy
    Alex Rios
    Mark Kotsay
    Andruw Jones
    Omar Vizquel

    Players Lost:
    Clayton Richard
    Aaron Poreda
    Adam Russell
    Dexter Carter
    Brian Anderson
    Dewayne Wise
    Scott Podsednik
    Octavio Dotel

Apparently Crisp, Matsui and Putz could all be Sox soon enough, as well.

Neither of them have had a chance to be starters, or a chance to be 'pen pitchers. They always fumble around with them in spring training. This year they need to pull their heads out and say, "Joba, you're a starter. Phil, setup man," instead of playing the stupid games. That and let Joba pitch. None of this pitch count crap.

I don't think Chicago would suit Matsui well at all. He hit awful last season compared to his career average (which should be expected: he's getting old) but his power numbers were helped greatly by a 314 foot right field line.

Pretty sure he means Halliday, not Holliday.

St. Louis never wins when it comes to bidding for high-priced free agents. The front office will chase for a bit but eventually relent and go dumpster diving.

The Cards want to sign Pujols and Holliday to long-term deals in order to solidify their 3-4 spots in the batting order. Pujols is due an extension after next season and he will command about 1/3 of the Cards total payroll. Scott Boras wants a Teixeira-like contract for Holliday, so if the Cards want to sign both Pujols and Holliday long-term, they will commit at least 1/2 their total payroll to two players.

WEll my Ms haven't done much but I am sure they will do what they always do. Overpay for a guy past his prime in hope he is the one bat they need. Next year he will bat .230 with 16 Hrs and 28 RBIs

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

I love it when people think the Red sox spend any where near what the Yankees do
In fact they don't even spend the second most.
New York Yankees $201,449,189 New York Mets $149,373,987 Chicago Cubs $134,809,000 Boston Red Sox $121,745,999(2009) payrolls
they spend 60% of what the Yankees do, if you got 60 bucks for your birthday and your brother got 100 dollars you wouldn't be upset?

Why Boston has the 4th highest only slightly above Detroit, Los Angelas Angels and Philly. Still 80 Million below New York Yankees and 28 Million below the Met's. Here is some proof of that.
