    Thread on Minnesota...

Good ol' DFL Minnesota was the school that killed Jack Trice, and hurt Ozzie Simmons of Iowa starting the Floyd of Rosedale tradition. Hello? Could we have any more motivation than that? Minnesota is Evil and must be destroyed.

Any threads on this yet? I just love when you guys correct someone that there was already a thread on some topic previously...that is just hilarious.

    Re: Thread on Minnesota...

hamm's used to be brewed in downtown st paul, minnesota. i used to live in minnesota. minnesota has 10,000+ lakes. just thought i would share some things about minesota.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than selfish and worry about my liver."

The University of Minnesota is single-handedly responsible for rain forest destruction, global climate change, and archaic federal dairy pricing policies. Recently, they proposed building a combination nuclear/coal burning power generation plant solely to generate electricity for their medical animal research facilities. It is rumored that the Ames strain of the Anthrax virus was secretly originated at the U of MN and was shipped to Ames via unsuspected goat carcasses, as a gesture of goodwill.

The U of MN releases Asian Carp into the Illinois river when no one is looking. The Emerald Ash Borer is a close friend of the chancellor of the U of MN. Goldy the Gopher is a well-known internet sexual predator, and actually voted twice in the last election. Once for Obama and once for McCain. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria originated at the U of MN-Morris campus. The U of MN discovered a cure for foot odor, then purposely destroyed it.

    Just plain evil, those Gophers.

An aside, but here's a great read about some urban spelunkers at the Hamm's Brewery.

Yes, there has already been a post at gopherhole.com called who hates iowa....state??

it has been discussed to death, and we all agree that in the 20s, it was a different time, football was a brutal game and "revenge" isnt a motivation.

    Re: Thread on Minnesota...

I don't really "hate" the Gophers, but I would absolutely love to see ISU kick the heck out of them after that game 1989 game at Jack Trice.

I can't remember the Minnesota running back's name (someone on here named him, but I can't remember), but he went down like he was shot as time was running out in the first half, rolled around on the ground holding his knee and the refs called an injury timeout stopping the clock. Minnesota had no timeouts. That allowed them to set up for a field goal and make it at.

The running back, of course, faked an injury and he was laughing about it on the way to the locker room. Minnesota ended up winning that game, 30-20.

To me, that's good enough reason to want to see ISU dismantle the Gophers.

that's pretty cool. it is a shame that the Hospitality room looks really good yet and they haven't done anything with the brew house.

    i think i shall have a Hamm's now.

The DFL wasn't even around back in the 1920's when Jack Trice died. The DFL was formed in 1944. Minnesota was a Republican state back in the 1920's. Voted for Harding. And had a Republican governor.
