    Companies that care

Please see the list below for companies that care about their employees, unfortunately my employer is not on this list, guess they only care about safety when it is convienient and profitable for them.

To be real, it's a lot easier for some companies to close than others.

I am an intern at Aviva and our offices are close, but we are still supposed to be working. Everyone should be working from home, but no one should be in the office.

    Re: Companies that care

I'm shocked that my company closed. Genuinely shocked. I called my boss and saw that it was closed when I watched the news this morning, but I still can't believe it. I'm fully expecting to go to work tomorrow and have everybody ask me where I was at.

Same here. So much so, I almost didn't bother to check the weather line before heading outside to dig my car out.

I partner of the firm I work for closed the office today. I already had today scheduled as a vacation day, so I have one more day to use before the end of December.

I felt the same way, so I made the poor decision to head in. I found out almost no one else came in, and now I'm not sure I can get back out. I'm hoping the plows are out around 3.

    Re: Companies that care

My company didn't cancel opening the office today, however, I'm not sure you can say they don't care. They are always sending us emails about the conditions, and the hotline said to use our best judgement on whether to come in. We do have to use a personal/vaca day though....but I guess thats the same deal teachers get, so I won't complain too much.
