I could not agree more. This matchup will ensure that only one of these teams goes undefeated, and by doing so against another mid-major in their bowl win, it will prevent them from making a whole lot of noise along the lines that they should have had a shot at the national title.

TCU beat a Clemson team this year that was in the ACC title game. They also beat Virginia out of conference, as well as some solid teams in BYU, Utah, and Air Force. And most of their games weren't even close.

Boise didn't have quite as much on the schedule, but they did beat Pac 10 champion Oregon, who could very well go on to win the Rose Bowl.

Giving these teams a shot to play a Cincy or Florida would have just opened the door for BCS disaster had they won. So, the BCS matched them up together to protect the system. Boise could very well have ended the season beating the champions of two of the BCS conferences. That could make a pretty strong claim.

Guess what? The BCS sucks and is all about money. Can we move on now?

Not if people are interested in actually knowing who the best football team in the nation is. It's not that bowls themselves are bad ideas, but using bowls to determine the national champion is nearly impossible.

Re: is anyone in the media fussing about boise vs. tcu as

TCU is legit IMHO. Boise played (not their fault) a schedule of misfits and failed programs. Their only two good games were of course Oregon and Nevada. They deserve to be in the BCS but not in the national championship. Plus it will never happen period. The BCS was created ONLY to allow the 6 major conf in. (of which we are part of that) It will never happen because the rules wont allow it. Period. The NCAA has never issued a nat champ in football. It is out of their hands so fair play does not have to exist.

Re: is anyone in the media fussing about boise vs. tcu as

Patrick and theyork have it right. It's just a chicken_ _ _ _ way for the bcs to avoid any more embarassment than they will already have when there is more than one undefeated team (likelast year) And like last year nobody will have any idea who the real national champion is. Anybody doubt that Utah could have played with and possibly beat Florida last year after what they did in their bowl game against I believe Alabama? And why doesn't the NCAA have more say in this bcs fiasco? Could it be that they are as greedy and corrupt as the BCS? No doubt in my mind.
