    Portland

I'm flying out to Portland on Saturday to interview for some jobs. I'm gonna be staying out there 4 days and kind of taking a mini-vacation as well. Anyone have any must-do's in the Portland area? I'll be bored out of my mind if I can't figure something out.

    Re: Portland

You could take in a Blazers game if they're not in jail or doing community service.
Isn't it fitting that with their history that their nickname is the 'Blazers?

    Re: Portland

I have travelled to Portland several times. Everyone eats at McCormuicks, Tuesday nioght they have a 7 course beginner chef cuisine stop. They poump the gas for you. Drive up Mount Hood and the gorge and eat at the "neat Job Corp restaurant" at 8,000 feet. NASA likes to visit there. Ski Teams train there. Go up Mt St Helens on the multi million dollar view highway. Go see the monk in Portland at their nice hangout on the east side. Go see the Japanese garden. Ride the light transit. Do Starbucks. Drive to the ocean over the small mountains to eat at a fine restaurant for wild salmon. See the monolithic rocks stick uop in the water. Go to a Blazers game at the Rose garden. Tell them you are an environwentalist when you interview. Tell them you drive an electric car. Remember, you are a Democrat also.

nike headquarters. YOu can tour their campus. I think it is called Alphabet street area or something like that. Streets are letters of the alphabet (i know real creative) but lots of resaurants/ bars etc.

    Re: Portland

on your way out ot Mt Hood defenitly go and check out some waterfalls, that is if you like waterfalls. Portland does have some great bars and grills (almost 4 on every corner) and make sure to try some of the 'beverages' out that way too. Lots and lots of micro breweries Also there is a Portland underground tour that I went on that wasn't to bad.

    Re: Portland

You can go to the Full Sail microbrewery. It overlooks the Columbia river, and there's often sailboarder's out doing their thing. They have a pretty good amber.

    Re: Portland

Columbia River Gorge is nice. Also you could drive out route 6 to the coast. A couple of beautiful Parks out there.

    Re: Portland

You can always drive an hour and a half and visit Astoria, OR. Home of the Goonies of course!
