Looks like Twins will keep Pavano

La Velle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune agrees - he says Pavano will accept arbitration tonight. Rosenthal says it's 99% certain

I thought he pitched well for the Twins so its a good keep now the question is if all are healthy who gets moved?

    Good for the Twins.
I am hopeful they resign Mauer as well.

With Pavano accepting arbitration Perkins is apparently avaliable

The Twins offered Perkins for Kouzmanoff, but the Padres want more, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

I would love to see Kouzmanoff in some TC gear, he's a great defensive 3rd baseman. He had kind of a strikeout problem a few years back, but is certainly a better hitter than what's currently on the roster.

And I hate Glen Perkins with a firey passion, I hope Bill Smith ships him off, and soon.

With the Tigers gutting themselves, the Twins are looking pretty good in the division!

Tigers look to have decent top of rotation with Verlander, Porcello and Scherzer

    Jackson >>> Scherzer

Arizona has a heck of a rotation now though.

A very meh move, a pitcher who can be solid, but not spectacular who has a lengthy history of injury concerns for supposedly around 5-7 million(rumors/reports say). I'd rather have had(or still make one) for Harden or Sheets because Twins pitching depth is decent, just lack a real frontline starter.

Sheets and Harden are not exactly iron men either. Plus, they probably cost a lot more than Pavano. I don't mind the signing. Pavano should be just fine in the 3rd or 4th spot of the rotation, behind Baker, Blackburn and Slowey. I just wonder what, if anything, they will get from Liriano -- or if he has worn out his welcome in the Twin Cities.

No they aren't which is why they would come cheaper than a true ace would on the open market. If you managed to catch them on a season where they stayed healthy you get ace or close to it production. With Pavano a healthy season equals a third starter. There's risk with any of those three so I would have preferred to take a shot at the higher reward options.

I agree, if you can get them cheap -- for 5-7 million. But, I would be hard pressed to pay them 10 million or more. No question they are better than Pavano, when healthy.
