    BSU / TCU conspiracy?

Just thinking to myself that the Boise State and TCU matchup is a little fishy. I wonder if the BCS bowls got together to put these two teams against each other as it won't put any other BCS schools at risk.

Sounds likely to me. This way neither of those can make a claim after they win their game.

I realize this is very wishful thinking, but I'd love to see that stadium filled with fans and the TV ratings sky-high for that game.

Totally agree. Where did this match up come from? It wasn't mentioned until today.

    Re: BSU / TCI conspiracy?

I agree with the conspiracy thing, what a bunch of garbage. TCU could have beat G Tech and BSU could have beaten Iowa. Once Cincy beats Florida we would have 4 teams left undefeated. The BCS would not like that.

I don't really like any of the BCS matchups save for Oregon and OSU, and even that one really doesn't excite me.

Unless the Fiesta Bowl is being paid by the rest of the BCS, no.

The Fiesta could have struck a deal. The BCS says take this crappy game and you wont be kicked out of the BCS by the Cotton Bowl. Its unlikely, but I wouldn't put anything past these people who are all about keeping the mid-majors down.

Probably follows the same lines as the Big 12 championship conspiracy.....

    Re: BSU / TCU conspiracy?

It really was looking like this would happen. The national championship and Rose Bowl were already decided and GT was slotted into the Orange.

Sugar had the first pick since Alabama is the number 1 overall and naturally they took Florida. Then the Fiesta gets to pick and they take the best team available, TCU. That leaves three picks remaining and due to the rules this year it goes Orange, then Sugar, and finally the Fiesta.

The Orange took the team that will probably bring in the most money, Iowa. So then it really came down to who the Sugar wanted, Boise or Cincinnati. Either way two of the unbeatens were ending up in the Fiesta.

Fiesta Bowl is the kiddie table this year.

Not only do they not want a BCS school to lose to a non bcs, but I think they want to have these two play, have a poor crowd and terrible ratings so they can say "see, we gave you a chance and couldnt make any money"

Everyone who wants a playoff system should at least turn the game on, even if they dont watch.

The Fiesta is jumping on the grenade for the BCS this year. Don't want a BCS team getting their ***es handed to them by TCU, especially if Alabama and Texas play a lackluster game.

They just know TCU would beat any team no problem except maybe Alabama. They might have a little trouble with them.

    Re: BSU / TCU conspiracy?

If there's ever a "conspiracy" this would be it. Let me explain.

One of the "cornerstones" of the BCS is that a set of conferences are the top ones while everything else does not deserve to play because they are not as good as the top conferences or whatever.

If BSU and TCU were to face two major conference teams and both win, it would be a little bit of proof that the BCS is flawed. Look what happened last year when Utah faced an SEC team. They pretty much smoked that team. After that people started asking "okay, so the BCS is flawed?" This year at least nobody will ask that directly, but they're dumb since people will anyway.

They are trying to cover their own *****. It's so stupid. Someone should honestly investigate it.
