    Where to stay in Phoenix

So the Insight is in Sun Devil stadium southeast of downtown in Tempe (different stadium than 2000). Do we stay downtown or is there an area that most fans will stay in???

Will we end up meshing in with they Hawk fans if they are there as well? Glendale is northwest of downtown.

We'd actually have to get picked for the bowl to have to worry about it.

I stayed in the Twin Palms hotel on the ASU campus when I went down there for wrestling. Its got an IHOP built onto it and the campustown bars are a couple blocks away.

I have rooms reserved at a couple Marriotts not too far away from the stadium!

Classy music - The Twin Palms Hotel in Tempe is located across the street from ASU and the Grady Gammage Broadway Theatre.

I think I might just minimize that and listen to it all night.

Re: Where to stay in Phoenix

If I could afford the ticket, I would stay with my folks who live on the south side of Phoenix, but I don't think they have room for to many more.

Since you know the area what are your real thoughts?

Earlier this week I had my whole trip to Houston planned.

Then mid week I heard on the radio MIZERY fans were worried that they were dropping to the Texas Bowl. Then I read this Another bowl snub for Tigers? - TigerExtra.com Which made me start to think that we had a legit shot at going to the Insight.

I am now prepared to back out all plans to Houston Sunday when it is announced we are going to Phoenix. I have heard some convincing rumors that if everything plays out tomorrow as expected, the Insight committee is picking us. They are picking us even if they don't get Iowa for the Fiesta. Our going to the Insight is not contingent on them getting Iowa.

I am convinced that the Insight is not just an outside chance. Just earlier this week I thought there wasn't a snowballs chance in Tempe. I sit here now and say something I did not see as possible just 3 days ago - "We are probably going to the Insight". With lessons learned from 2005 mistakes our athletic department has done a fantastic job of presenting our case.
