A big rain gutter caught them and kept them from falling all the way to the ground...

Why were there only 2 people on the roof??

    Why weren't they strapped in??

Major lawsuits gonna happen on this one, these 2 are the idiots, but they will make a lot of money on this!!

At least they but a rain gutter on the roof for people to fall into!

Not at all, but that doesn't mean anything, they are in Texas and if their primary language is spanish, then by all means, go with what you know.

Doubt it. How are they going to make money when they were negligent?

    Lawyers.

    Improper training.

Their boss didn't stress safety enough.

    Insert next bull**** answer here.

    They will get theirs. Unfortunately.

This is all the company's responsibility to make sure they use the harnesses, because they weren't there to monitor, this will be all there fault. It is the company's responsibility to make sure the worker does what is right. Take any OSHA class and this is what they tell you. The worker doesn't get fined by OSHA, the employer does, will be the same way with the courts most likely.

If they are steel workers there's a chance they are in a union. Unions stress training before they are on a job. So, it would be tough to think they are going to get money because of that.

I agree with that, I'm just saying I would doubt they would get money from it. I was management in a factory when a girl was negligent and stepped onto a conveyor and got her ankle caught in it and snapped it. How much did she get = $0.

I don't like it either, but these 2 most likely have injuries they will deal with for the rest of their lives. Little different situation than a broken ankle. You never know though, my guess is Jones will throw some money at them to keep them quiet!

Very possible. I wonder what in the heck Jerry pays for insurance there and if it would cover it. Could you imagine those premiums?

I am guessing it would only cover it if the worker's employer's didn't have any insurance, or if they were employed by Jones/the stadium. Also if the stadium was found to be negligent in some way. I don't even want to imagine what his insurance policy is, I don't even know how an insurance company could afford to write a place like that. Think of the amount of legal costs there would be in one season alone, the drunks falling downs steps, taking the wrong exit and slipping down the roof of the stadium into the large gutter, emotional damage from the clarity of the screen in the stadium. On a side note, do you think Best Buy sold them a 1 or 2 year protection plan on the jumbo tron??

This was one reason why UNI removed their balloon top on the UNI Dome and made it rigid. The people who shoveled snow off the top of the balloon risked their lives every winter. They were usually hired off the street.
