    Best Cult Movie

    What's your favorite "Cult Movie"?

Mine is a tie between four movies, three of which were directed by Darren Aronofsky. They are, in no particular order, "Pi," "The Big Lebowski," "Requiem for a Dream," and "The Fountain."

    Your choices?

EDIT: "Cult Movie" is "a film that has acquired a highly devoted but relatively small group of fans. Often, cult movies have failed to achieve fame outside of this small group."

Is "Dazed and Confused" a cult movie? I thought it was more of a nostalgia/comedy movie. I thought it was a very popular movie... Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I thought.

Does Ferris Bueller's Day Off count as a cult movie?

IMO, it depends on how it did in the box office. Donnie Darko and Requiem for a Dream did horrible in the box office, but are huge cult movies. So is the Rocky Horrer Picture Show, but that did bad for a while before it got big in theatres. I'd say no, because I think it did pretty well in the box office when it first came out.

It's one of those that has been shown on comedy central enough that people have seen it. When it came out in '93 it wasn't hugely popular. Plus the soundtrack rules.

Ok, that's what I wasn't sure about. I thought it was big at the time it came out too. That's one of my favorites also.... "That's what I love about high school girls, man. I keep gettin' older, but they stay the same age."

The guy who played Randall Pink "Floyd" was in another one of my favorites which, while maybe not a cult classic, was pretty damn funny, Mallrats.

Boondock Saints is alright. Is William Dafoe one of the most ugly human beings ever?

How about Army of Darkness? I love that flick!
