    Re: Scrubs

We watched about a third of the first episode last night on DVR, and then stopped. I'll probably finish them today - not really on board at this time.

I love Scrubs. Always have. What has bothered me with the last few seasons is that they make some of the characters (JD in particular) into these caricatures of a few little quirks that they had in earlier seasons. JD used to just make a slightly effeminate comment every once in a while, now it seems like he's always acting like a girl. Elliott could be a little shrewish at times, but then she just turned screechy. There are still moments of brilliance, but it's just not what it used to be.

From what I read this summer, they didn't re-up her contract. She may do guest spots here and there.

    Re: Scrubs

Too many story lines were played out and reused. Show is a shell of what it used to be. With that said I'm okay with it...every show has a major/minor jump the shark moment when it's over.

The new show just seems so forced. It's the equivalent of Saved By the Bell, The New Class. ABC is obviously trying to make good on their decision to acquire the show, and I understand that. But everything that I saw felt like it was being spoonfed directly from a bunch of executives, and run through focus groups.

From reading up on the season it looks like she won't even have any guest spots either

Question: More on Scrubs! Will Carla be a series regular? —Dinana

Ausiello: Forget series regular — she won’t even be a guest star. Judy Reyes declined an invitation to make occasional appearances on Scrubs 2.0. According to Bill Lawrence, Reyes was only interested in returning if it was on a full-time basis — something that, creatively, he couldn’t make work. “It was hard for us to wrap our head around why a nurse would be spending so much time around med students,” explains Lawrence, who insists he harbors no hard feelings towards Reyes. In fact, he plans to reach out to her again in hopes that “she’ll change her mind.”

    Re: Scrubs

Every show needs a bit of time to get the ball rolling, find a groove.

I enjoyed the show. Maybe not as good as the originals around season 3 or 4, but still pretty good.

I could watch Cox walk up and down a street doing his thing. That guy makes the show. And I missed the name, but the new, older student (his #1) - I think is a bit of a Cox-Clone.

So - no janitor, no Carla, guessing no Sarah Chalke, no Ted.

The janitor has his own show now, but I wouldnt put it past him to make an appearance now and then.

I caught about 20 seconds of it last night during the game, post game meltdown.

Is he the lead in that show? Loved how they wrote him out of the story. But it did set up for an epic return.

    Re: Scrubs

I thought it was pretty funny... We faded out watching it as time went on when it was on NBC before. However, it has a local appeal now in that Dr. Drew is played by Mike Mosley who graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1997.

    Re: Scrubs

Once they fade JD out and the show has to stand on its own I don't see it happening. Turk won't have Carla or JD and his character will cease to be funny, the new ones aren't as good. All you have is Cox.
