GMAC IS A GREAT COACH, STAY WITH HIM CYCLONE NATION! (sarcasm)

Only one nonconference loss never made or broke a good team. Sure, we are disappointed but let's not forget. UNI is a GREAT team this year. I am with coach GMAC all the way.

Now, if we lose to IOWA, WE SHOULD FIRE HIS ***!!!

    False.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

What do you consider a great team? Losing in the first round of NCAA tourney? That's the farthest I can see UNI going.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

    I have my doubts now.

Actually, I disagree. He is not a great coach.

UNI is not a great team. Drake two years ago was a great team. Most of the Big 12 would take them.

I've been as much of a GMac supporter as anyone else - but he's never proven himself to be a great coach. Never.

I could stick with GMAC if we could at least achieve mediocrity. We can't even do that. What we can do is look like crap, play like crap, our coaches, coach like crap, etc....

I can't wait until we play Duke. That 50 point loss is going to taste real sweet.

Re: GMAC IS A GREAT COACH, STAY WITH HIM CYCLONE NATION! (sarcasm)

The toughest part of tonight was realizing that we DO NOT have a NCAA tournament caliber team, and if we don't have it this year, when will we under McDermott? The likely answer seems "never". 5 more years of this, and then start all over from scratch.

I KNOW UNI is a good team. They will likely make the tournament, but at some point Greg HAS to start beating those kinds of teams at Hilton. He hasn't beaten a single MVC team at Hilton. He hasn't beaten an NCAA qualifying team at Hilton. He hasn't scored a single upset at Hilton. This is his 4th season. We used to get home upsets every year, even when the team was down. The last team we beat a better team because of the home crowd was Iowa in 2005. The crowd was in it tonight, but the team sure as hell wasn't. It just wears you out. I just feel helpless about the future of Cyclone basketball right now.

I wish I hadn't already bought tickets for this. Hey at least I can say I've been to an NBA arena.

Re: GMAC IS A GREAT COACH, STAY WITH HIM CYCLONE NATION! (sarcasm)

We won't know if McD can coach or not until we get a lot farther along in the season, one thing was true about LE and even TF teams - they weren't great in Non-Conference but by conference time, everyone knew their role and they were tough as nails. I just don't sense that McD has that same philosophy or ability to get that out of his team. You play your game, if your game is to run and press, then run and press, if its hold the ball and play nasty d, then do it - I don't like the multiple personalities from the same team.
