    Craig Brackins

He is a great player, but we need leadership out of him. No FG's in the second half for a player like him is crazy. Sure his teammates didn't get him the ball, but that is where he has to be a leader and demand the ball. Part of this in on Greg for not going to him more, but if he continues to play like this I would really consider another year of college basketball. Dwight Howard and Shaq are a little bit tougher than Koch and Eglseder and he got out played by those two tonight.

    Re: Craig Brackins

    Craig had a good game.

Too many ball hogs at end of the game who cannot make the big shot. I thought most teams drive the lane time after time and draw the foul shots. Then DG does draw the foul and misses the first foul shot quickly and that is all she wrote. Yet, we should not have been in that position at all. UNI was not coring much - we just threw the ball away stupidly and wastefully.

Brackins wants to be a 3. Doesn't have the handle or defensive ability to play it. If he decides he wants to be a 4, he has got to be able to post up without getting pushed 20 feet from the basket.

    Re: Craig Brackins

Maybe im wrong but in most games where Craig isn't getting a lot of touches there is that one moment in the game where we take a timeout and we run a play for Craig. But I don't think that moment ever really came. I almost feel that if Mcdermott was coach of the bulls in the 90s he wouldn't go to jordan.

Ten is plenty of attempts, but he needs to hit more than 4. A first rounder needs to be able to make 7 or 8 out of 10 on occasion. The only way he's going to do that is to quit falling away from the basket.

I'm going to call a foul on the ISU announcers for saying Brackins is one of the best midrange shooters in the country. I just don't see it. A PF needs to shoot better than 47.5% from the floor and he's never done it.

    ERRRR!!! FALSE

Not when you're a potential All American and only get 4 shots in the second half!

    Re: Craig Brackins

Didn't he also miss on something like 4 straight possessions down the stretch when we were up by 1? We could have built a 9-point lead and put the game away in very short order. Instead, 4 trips with a 1 point lead, 4 times we get the ball into the paint, and we come out of those 4 possessions with 0 points.

I'm not just blaming McDermott - I'm blaming everyone. McDermott had some questionable decisions during the game, but when on 4 straight possessions down the stretch you get the ball into the paint and put the shot up and get 0 points out of it... Well, at some point you just gotta put the ball in the hole.

Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

He is a good free throw shooter, yet he does not make the moves to draw fouls with pump fakes.

    Re: Craig Brackins

I feel bad for Craig. He might have had money in last years draft. If the season continues like this, he isn't going to get drafted.

One thing is certain though... Mr. Brackins needs to start playing like he's going to go NBA, and not "want" to go NBA.

This. I feel for the guy, I thought it was awesome that he decided to come back, but ISU is not giving him any favors by getting beat at home to UNI.

The good news is that if we keep it up, he might come back just because there won't be any draft for him to go into, who wants to take a guy that gets lit up by some Mo Valley no-body or a NW soph that no-one knew about...on consecutive games!

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

Come on! ISU had a poor season last year when he was on the radar for a first round NBA pick. All he had to do was have a couple great games against some great teams like Kansas. He will have more of those games at some point this year. Brackins will not have a problem getting to the NBA.

all the double and triple teams will only make him a better player in the long run.

    Re: Craig Brackins

I'll tell you who I want to feed the ball to more often. Hamilton. The big guy has a sweet touch. He's now 13 of 15 on his field goals. I wish Brackins could score like that close to the hoop.
