    Your preference

Maybe this could be a good poll question.

    Which do you prefer:

    A) A bowl win at a "lesser" bowl, or a bowl loss but getting picked for a "better" bowl? Personally, I think any bowl is good: for the program, for the extra practice we get, for exposure, for fans to be excited about. Therefore I prefer a win in a "lesser" bowl. Of course, it depends on how much lesser. I'd take a loss in the Fiesta bowl over a win in the Texas bowl. Not that those would be the choices facing us in 1 year.

    2) Nebraska beats Texas, we get the Insight, and the Big 12 (Texas) does not get the Nat. Champ. game; OR Texas beats Nebraska, we go to Texas bowl, and the Big 12 (Texas) wins the Nat. Champ.? Personally, I love ISU and I love the Big 12. I think Nebraska beating Texas would be a little good for ISU, while Texas winning the Nat. Champ. would be very good for the Big 12. Slight edge in my mind for Texas winning. Besides, we have a better chance (based on probable matchups) to win the Texas bowl instead of the Insight.

    Re: Your preference

For this season, I just feel that any of these bowls that we could go to are great for Cyclone football with a coach in his first season. But, since I have to pick, I would pick the Texas Bowl against Navy. Our best chance to win.....and that would be pretty sweet history in talking about CPR over the years....and in his first season at the helm....he brought in a BOWL VICTORY.

That is what I am rooting for, someone we can beat.

I would deffinatly go with an bowl win over a bowl loss this year. We win and we are above .500 we lose we are below .500. In a season like this I think it would be great to be able to say we had a winning season regardless of the bowl we won.

    Re: Your preference

I think the best bowl here is one that we could win. The best option would probably be the Insight bowl, in which case we would play Minnesota. Very winnable. Minnesota has been struggling toward the end of the season and has a QB that doesn't roll out of the pocket that much (one thing that has hurt us this season). Also, I think a match against a team that's so close to us would draw quite a crowd. Worst bowl situation would probably be Independence. Probable match-ups are Georgia and South Carolina, who would pound us into the ground. Only bright side of that bowl is that we'll be seen due to it being on ESPN. I still vote Arizona.

You can't fill a trophy case with moral victories. And screw Texas.

This. We are coming in at 6-6 and need to build momentum for next season. A bowl game helps do that. A win in a bowl game helps more. Really, in the grand scheme of things, there isn't really much difference between the 3 possible bowls we could go to. Sure, they pick in a certain order and the payout is a little different, but with the bowl revenue sharing etc., I don't think we gain much in terms of exposure or money no matter what. Most football fans outside of the hardcore Big 12 fans would be hard pressed to tell you which one of these bowls is more "prestigious" than the other. Take the W.

A W gives us a winning season. Isn't that why we play the game?

    Re: Your preference

Texas playing and winning the national championship is good for Texas not the Big 12.

Two Big 12 teams in the BCS is better for the Big 12. Also, we can say we defeated the Big 12 champions and go to a better bowl game at the same time.

Here's to hoping Pelini can pull it off even though I hate him.

    Re: Your preference

Since we are 6-6 and facing Texas/Okie next two years, it has to be plain bowl win.
