    Syncing Music to iPod

Google "sync music ipod" and you'll get plenty of results.

Install iTunes. Easiest for the technically challenged to use.

Keep in mind that just because you install itunes doesn't mean that you have to buy music from them.

I also like to keep all my music in MP3 format so that Apple doesn't lock me into their aac format.

    Re: iPod Nano

I like the iTunes player, but I don't buy my music from them. A friend turned me onto mp3search.ru. Most songs are 9 cents, but sometimes they have sales where everything is a penny. Most are in high-bitrate mp3 and are very good quality. What I suggest is setup a folder on your desktop for easy access and save your music downloads there. Then open iTunes, click "file" and "add folder to library". It will import your music into iTunes. Getting it onto your iPod from there is easy.

One thing I'll add is never buy a brand new nano. I've bought 2 of the refurbished models and they have the same warrantee as the regular one and are only $99 as opposed to $150.

Where are you buying them. As much as I hate Apple I like the size of the Nano, for the gym.

There's a "Convert to MP3" button in iTunes.

You lose some quality in the conversion. Best to buy them in mp3 format to begin with, or so I've been told.

I usually just buy them in MP3 format from another store. I'm always skeptical about converting from AAC to MP3 because of lose of quality. Although I have used this in the past and then deleted the AAC file so I didn't have duplicates.

I have a sansa clip, and it's smaller and just as good as an iPod nano, I think. Only thing that kinda sucks is that some gym machines have those proprietary ipod connectors.

I just picked a refurbed 1 gig one up at the last woot off for like 5 bucks plus shipping. How much music do you really need at the gym?

Plus it has a built in FM tuner which is kinda nice sometimes.

As for where to get music, I think Amazon is pretty good. Most songs are a buck, and they come in MP3 with no DRM.

The russian site is pretty much illegal. You might just as well steal the music than to pay the Russians to do so for you.
