    PowerPoint to DVD?

So yeah I'm finally "getting with the times" by necessity and am looking for a free way to burn a PowerPoint presentation to play as a DVD. Any recommendations, preferably something that is free? Just ordered a DVD burner for the PC since all mine has is CD burning capabilities.

Reason behind it is the wife is making a slide show for her parent's 40th wedding anniversary and wants to be able to play a DVD version of the powerpoint slide show since we don't have access to a projector and aren't sure if the TV at the church will have the right inputs to hook the laptop up to and play it on the TV.

    Re: PowerPoint to DVD?

I have used authorSTREAM Online PowerPoint Presentations and Slideshow Sharing before... You upload the presentation and download it as a video file.... Once in video you could use Nero (probably will come with your burner) or some other dvd authoring software... Sorry I am a Mac guy so not sure what would be best on a PC... But one way or another you are going to have to get it to a video file before it goes to dvd.... Another thing about that site is you can share it from the website with relatives etc... if they want to see it again...

    Good Luck.... sounds like fun...

    Re: PowerPoint to DVD?

What version of powerpoint do you have? I know for sure that with 2007, and I think its there in older versions as well, that in the file menu there is an option to publish and to package for cd. If you do this and set the options correctly, you should be able to make the slideshow into a dvd using just powerpoint and windows.
